Thomas Muller has the potential to be the most successful German footballer

DBasia.news – Bayern Munich’s achievement in winning the 2020 European Super Cup has its own meaning for Thomas Muller. The 31-year-old player has the potential to be named Germany’s most successful footballer in history.

Munich won its fourth trophy in the last three months. Previously, Hansi Flick’s team won the treble Winners after winning the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Champions League last season.

The German giants won the 2020 European Super Cup after beating Sevilla 2-1. Munich was forced to go into extra time.

For Muller, the 2020 European Super Cup title is the 26th trophy in his career. A total of 25 of them were presented to Munich while the other one was the 2014 World Cup title with the German national team.

The 26 trophies has made Muller now equal with his friend and former teammate, Bastian Schweinsteiger. Both became German footballers with the highest number of titles.

However, Schweinsteiger has decided to retire since October 2019. That means the former Manchester United player cannot add to his trophy collection.

While Muller is very likely to add to his collection of titles with Munich. He even has the opportunity to pass Schweinsteiger’s score next week if he is able to bring Munich to defeat Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup.

This is very possible. Moreover, Munich is in his best performance.

Muller himself deserves the status of Germany’s most successful footballer. His performance over the last 12 years has been relatively stable.

The player who made his debut with the Munich senior team in 2008 was not awkward even though his position was often changed by the coach. At the end of his career, Muller now plays more of an assist role.

It’s understandable that the title of legend is waiting for Muller when he decides to retire one day. But that is unlikely to happen any time soon.
