DBasia.news –  Director of RB Leipzig, Oliver Mintzlaff, claimed not to have a received a contract from Liverpool or Bayern Munich related to Timo Werner. Mintzlaff also said he was thrilled as he successfully extended Werner’s contract until 2023.

Bayern and Liverpool are rumored to bring in Werner in the upcoming transfer market. RB Leipzig is ready to release its flagship bomber if he receives an offer of 60 million Euros.

“Neither Juergen Klopp nor (Bayern CEO) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge have contacted me to ask about Timo Werner,” Oliver Mintzlaff told General Anzeinger.

“We are very pleased to be able to extend Werner’s contract until 2023. He was able to show extraordinary performances in the first half of this season,” added Mintzlaff.

Furthermore, Mintzlaff also said that RB Leipzig is the right club for Werner at the moment. According to Mintzlaff’s view, Die Roten Bullen will enable Werner to continue to hone his ability to become a mainstay of the German national team as a bomber.

“We also believe that at this time we are the best choice to develop Werner’s talent as the main striker for the German national team,” Mintzlaff added.

This season, Werner has managed to show outstanding performance with a record of 21 goals and seven assists from 25 appearances in the German League. This brilliant record has made Werner only four goals adrift of Robert Lewandowski in the list of the German League’s top scorer.
