UEFA and Madrid Give Statement Regarding Sergio Ramos Failed to Comply Anti-Doping Regulation

DBasia.news –  The captain of Real Madrid and Spain national team, Sergio Ramos, got an impact following a stormy news from Der Spiegel. Ramos is allegedly failed to comply with anti-doping regulation.

Ramos was rumored doing it twice during the 2017 Champions League final between Madrid against Juventus in Wales, and also another match between Madrid against Malaga in the LaLiga this year.

The 32-year-old defender, claimed by Der Spiegel, alleged using drugs banned by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). One of them is dexamethasone, a corticosteroid to raise the focus and comprehension.

Dexamethasone is actually a drug used for some cancer virus and other diseases like blood disorders, hormone, immunity, allergy, and others. But, it’s banned in football.

In the first case, Ramos closed the case after UEFA got the medical explanation from Madrid and Ramos. But in the second case against Malaga, the former Sevilla defender is allegedly guilty after refusing the instruction from Spanish Anti-Doping Agency.

So far, it hasn’t proved yet because the claim just came from Der Spiegel. However, Madrid released the statement to protect his dignity and reputation, as described in the three points:

  1. Sergio Ramos has never breached anti-doping control regulations.
  2. UEFA requested timely information and closed the matter immediately, as is usual in these cases, after verification by the experts from the World Anti-Doping Agency, AMA, and of UEFA itself.
  3. Regarding the rest of the content of the aforementioned publication, the club will not address evidence of such an insubstantial nature.”

UEFA also claimed that the allegation isn’t true. UEFA is not in the position to defend Ramos, but take part because they are mentioned in Der Spiegel report. UEFA is rumored freeing Raos from the potency of a doping violation.

“UEFA strongly rejects the unfounded accusations that it has concealed positive doping results, and all cases of UEFA doping control are carried out in accordance with the Code of the World Anti-Doping Agency,” the statement said.

“All the cases required by the WADA Code have shown that UEFA have provided all the detailed information, expert reports and evidence during the handling of such cases.”

UEFA and Madrid have spoken up. Let’s wait for the player to talk publicly about the serious allegation. If he ‘s proved wrong, he could be banned from football for four years.
