DBasia.news – Leicester City defender, Harry Maguire, has not officially joined Manchester United. Nevertheless the Red Devils defender, Victor Lindelof, has welcomed him and admitted that he is ready to compete for the position on the back line.
Man United and Leicester are still negotiating regarding Maguire’s transfer price. Leicester insisted on a transfer price of 90 million pounds, while Man United still offered around £ 80 million.
If Maguire comes to United, then the competition to play regularly at the center defender will be even tighter as there are still other names entrenched such as: Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo, and Axel Tuanzebe.
Lindelof is not afraid of the intense competition on United’s back line. The competition is very much awaited, because in big clubs, there is always intense competition in taking regular playing positions.
“I like competition. Actually, I like it. I think a great club must have that competition. If you have good players in your position, you have to work hard every day, especially in training sessions, and that helps the team to the next level, “Lindelof stated, as quoted from the Goal.
“For me it’s perfect. I like it. I think everyone at this club wants to be at the highest level. I am very good friends with all of them. In training sessions, we compete and off the field we are friends. As it should be.”
Lindelof also discussed rumors of his transfer which had linked him to Barcelona.
“I am not the person who thinks about it. I am here, I am very happy here. That is my focus. Manchester United is my club. I represent this club with great honor,” concluded the former Benfica defender.
