DBasia.news – FC Barcelona know exactly how to hurt Italian fans, especially AS Roma and Inter Milan in this summer transfer market. After hijacking Malcom who almost joined Roma, Blaugrana also succeeded to secure Arturo Vidal who rumored playing for Inter.
By the arrival of the two players, Barcelona finished four transfer after Arthur Melo and Clement Lenglet. Barca have enough power to chase the treble winners of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Champions League. Last season, they succeeded in achieving double winners of La Liga and Copa del Rey.
Vidal, 31, came with many experiences playing in Europe with Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, and Bayern Munchen. Moreover, he had 100 caps and 24 goals for the Chile national team. So, Vidal is the ideal player to play for Barcelona. Besides, his playing style is the same as Paulinho who returned to Tiongkok and playing for Guangzhou Evergrande.
“He’s like a warrior. He gives everything on the field. He’s aggressive in both defense and attack, works hard and has spirit, and those are what makes him contagious. He’s also capable of runs into the box, finishing them off, applying pressure,” Valverde told Sport-English.
Vidal is someone we hope can add energy in midfield. We know he has a lot of experience. The amount of games he’s played for his previous teams is very good. He has a big presence and he doesn’t disappear on the pitch. He has plenty of experience, numbers that show he’s played in many matches and made his mark in them, plus he’s very aggressive. He can do very well for us. He’s similar to Paulinho, a different profile to what we have,” he continued.
Barcelona will have the Spain Super Cup against Sevilla on Monday, August 13. Vidal has the potency to play his debut in that match though the fact that Valverde will consider his physical health.
“We hope he helps us at decisive moments in the Champions League. He has incredible statistics and is very consistent, no doubt,” Valverde concluded.
