Wenger Denies Rumors Will Be Coach of the Dutch National Team

By db-admin

DBasia.news – It was rumored that Arsene Wenger would become the coach of the Dutch national team if Ronald Koeman officially handled Barcelona. However, this was immediately denied by The Professor.

Koeman is almost certain to replace Quique Setien in the Barcelona coaching chair. Although it has not been officially announced, this has been conveyed by the president of the Blaugrana, Josep Maria Bartomeu.

“If nothing is wrong, then Koeman will be Barca coach next season. We already know what his thinking and philosophy are,” Bartomeu said in his live interview with Barca TV.

Ronald Koeman was even seen at Barcelona airport on Sunday (16/8). It is believed that the agreement between the two parties has already been established, so that it is now believed that Barcelona will only need to announce it officially in the near future.

If the announcement really happened, then the Dutch national team would have to find a replacement for Koeman, who has worked with De Oranje since 2018. One of the names that has been said to be filling the position is former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger.

The 70-year-old man no longer handles the team after lifting his suitcase from Arsenal in 2018. Wenger is currently the director of FIFA who manages the development of global football.

However, Wenger apparently denied this news. He admitted that he did not know where the issue that he would replace Ronald Koeman in the Dutch national team came from.

“I am sure there are some reports that say that I am offering my willingness to take the job. However, I am not willing,” Wenger said as quoted by the Mirror.

“I work at FIFA and I work very hard and I don’t talk to anyone. I don’t know where the news came from,” Arsene Wenger confirmed.
