Why Valverde Didn’t Include Barca B Players

DBasia.news – The 2-0 victory of Barcelona against Celta Vigo at Camp Nou makes them become the leader of half season.

Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi’s goals in the first half couldn’t be compensated by Celta Vigo in the remaining time of the match. Marc Andre Ter Stegen’s goal wasn’t conceded, unlike what happened at the beginning of the match.

Barca coach Ernesto Valverde concerned about the defensive line. The injuries of Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen made him won’t gambling by entering two Barca B young players to the squad.

He chose to borrow Jeison Murillo from Valencia and one Barca B that might be called if necessary.

“We wanted a bit of security in the middle of the defense and I think we’ve come up with a solution, but there’s still room for a B team player to come through,” Valverde said.

“The club insisted it would be a loan because we didn’t want to make a financial investment. The idea is for him to start playing immediately. He’s a player with a very good knowledge of European and Spanish football, so he should be able to adapt quickly, that’s the idea. We don’t get much time, but we’ve found a solution that I think is a very good one.”
