Won Against Saint Etienne, Thomas Tuchel Broke the Record

DBasia.news – It seems like Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) don’t have any equal opponent in Ligue 1. Recently, Thomas Tuchel squad humiliated Saint Ettienne with a 4-0 score at Parc des Princes, Friday (14/9).

The highlight was, PSG played without their two top players during that match. Yes, Tuchel decided to send Neymar on a break preparing for the match against Liverpool in the Champions League next week. Also, Kylian Mbappe is suspended.

But one goal from Julian Draxler, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria, and Moussa Diaby ensured PSG’s way to achieve the victory in six initial matches for Tuchel as a coach. Practically, Tuchel also deserved the record.

He is the first PSG coach who successfully gained six consecutive victories when starting the career in the team. The previous record was for Carlo Ancelotti with five consecutive winnings in 2011.

“I’m very happy with this victory, our sixth in a row since the start of the season. It’s important to several options when we play. It was a good rehearsal, good for the confidence ahead of Tuesday’s match in Anfield against Liverpool. It will be a big test for us, but we are confident,” Tuchel said.

One of the players contributed in PSG victory was Draxler. He was injured at the beginning of the season. But playing against Saint Ettienne, he played  90 minutes full and scored one goal. After the match, Draxler admitted that he is ready to play in different position.

“It’s important for me to be versatile. I know my role in the team, but I am very ambitious and want to play as much as possible and for that, I have to be versatile,” Draxler mentioned.

With the perfect result from five initial matches of Ligue 1, PSG lead the standing with six points difference above Dijon. Dijon will play the match against Angers this weekend.
