Abdul Malik suffered broken ribs
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Double bad luck for Terengganu FC (TFC) ace Abdul Malik Mat Ariff who had to take a long break for the second time this year after suffering a break of ribs when his squad met Kedah at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar last week.
In April, Abdul Malik was forced to rest more than two months due to an injury to the anklet.
The absence of the 27-year-old “cockpit” player is sure to give a big blow to his team, Irfan Bakti Abu Salim who is aiming to finish the Super League this season at least in third.
“Actually, I started to get sick after defending Kuala Lumpur in Kuala Terengganu on July 10 as a result of an opponent’s opponent and was followed by a PKNS FC player on July 14 in Shah Alam.
“In the two games I was still able to help the team until the 70th minute. I do not know the extent of the injury suffered because I did not undergo an examination even though it was painful in the chest.
“However, against Kedah on July 17, the pain in the section was getting stronger and more worrying it was difficult to breathe while running and forced the coach to pull me out before ending in the first half of the match.
“After undergoing surgery, I was shocked to see that my ribs had broken and medical officers confirmed that I needed to take a long break to recover the injury thus ruining the dream to help the team and to increase the collection of the goals,” said Abdul Malik, who only blew one goal this season against when emerging local player category gold winner last year.
Meanwhile, Irfan Bakti praised the exhilarated spirit of former Kuantan FA player last season who continued to help the team despite serious injuries.
