AC Milan Have Found a Replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu

DBasia.news – AC Milan started Serie A 2021-2022 with a win. The Rossoneri have now also found a replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu.

Milan managed to steal three points when they traveled to Sampdoria headquarters at Luigi Ferraris, Tuesday (24/8) early morning WIB. Stefano Pioli’s team closed the game with a 1-0 win.

Milan’s winning goal was scored by Brahim Diaz in the seventh minute. He fired a hard low shot utilizing Davide Calabria’s mature pass.

Interestingly, Brahim Diaz was installed as a trequartista in this match. He fills the role left by Calhanoglu.

Diaz’s performance also satisfied Pioli. The loan player from Real Madrid is the one who poses the most threat to the Sampdoria defense.

“It’s clear that everyone is thinking about his (Brahim Diaz) performance against Juventus last season. By then I had made more tactical choices,” Pioli told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’ve always been happy with him because he has personality and really believes in himself. He has everything to hold on to this position.”

Diaz’s brilliant performance as a trequartista is indeed something to be grateful for by Pioli and Milan. They can save money and not be busy looking for new players in the transfer market.

Now Diaz’s consistency to play in that position is a new challenge. The results achieved by Milan this season seem to be greatly influenced by the performance of the 22-year-old player.

But Pioli does not want to depend on just one player. He emphasized that he had a reliable squad.

“We became a strong team with a lot of competitiveness in the group. I explain my thoughts to the team, because I am also stronger than two years ago.”

“This is Milan who is most prepared, because there is a lot of balance now. I am coaching a strong team.”
