By db-admin

DBasia.news – Reportedly, AC Milan will bring in a new midfielder in the transfer market this summer. The Rossoneri are targeting Miralem Pjanic, a former AS Roma and Juventus player who currently belongs to Barcelona.

AC Milan have a tough task to defend the Scudetto title. The job is believed to be more challenging as their rivals continue to strengthen themselves. Moreover, Milan also lost an important player last season, Franck Kessie.

The midfielder from the Ivory Coast chose not to renew his contract. He went to Barcelona on a free transfer.

Therefore, Milan wants to bring in a new midfielder. The player must be able to be a bridge between the defense and attack.

Calciomercato reports, the player Milan is eyeing is Pjanic. The midfielder has a wealth of experience in Serie A having played for Roma and Juventus. He became the backbone of the two clubs.

Apart from playing time, Milan also sees Pjanic as an example for young players. Pjanic is also known to be a leader.

The negotiation process has also been carried out. Milan are confident they can complete the transfer.

Milan is aware, Barcelona currently does not need Pjanic anymore. The midfielder is not included in Xavi Hernandez’s plans. Moreover, now there is Kessie.

Indeed, the signs of Pjanic’s elimination from Barca have been seen since last season. The 32-year-old midfielder was loaned out to Besiktas for not securing a place in the first team.

Good news for Milan, Barcelona aren’t expected to set a high price for Pjanic. The former Olympique Lyon is valued at 20 million euros. Meanwhile, Pjanic’s contract will expire in June 2024.
