AC Milan is ready to extend Stefano Pioli’s contract

DBasia.news – AC Milan is reportedly preparing a new contract for the coach, Stefano Pioli. The Rossoneri management are satisfied with what Pioli has shown so far.

Stefano Pioli joined Milan to replace Marco Giampaolo who was sacked in October 2019. At that time, many doubted Pioli’s abilities, especially after what he displayed with Fiorentina.

In fact, Milan almost fired Pioli in July 2020. Il Diavolo Rosso established communication with Ralf Rangnick to fill the main coach position. Although, in the end Milan officials changed their minds and committed to keeping Pioli.

After gaining trust, Pioli didn’t waste it. The coach built Milan, although with not star-studded player materials. Slowly Milan has improved their position in the standings.

One of Pioli’s achievements was bringing Milan back into the Champions League after a seven-year absence. The coach, who turns 56 at the end of this month, has 56 wins, 23 draws and 18 losses while at Milan.

This season, Pioli has again made Milan be at the top of the Serie A standings. Milan is in second place with 19 points. That is Milan’s highest number of points in the first seven games of the season since they last won the Scudetto in 2003-2004.

Not surprisingly, with all the positive results obtained, Milan management wants to extend Pioli’s contract. Moreover, the coach’s contract will expire in the summer of 2022.

According to MilanNews, Milan is preparing the details of the contract that will be submitted. So far, Pioli is expected to welcome Milan’s intention to mantain him.
