DBasia.news –  The domino effect of striker transfer is happening in this winter transfer market. Not too long after AC Milan signed the new striker, Chelsea also created their official announcement,

The Blues started it by the successful signing of the 31-year-old striker, Gonzalo Higuain. El Pipita came as the loan-player with the permanent option until June 30rd, 2020.

Chelsea signed him worth 18 million euro with 36 million euro permanent option. Juventus who loaned Higuain to Milan this half-season released the official statement.

“The agreement also grants to Chelsea the options to extend the duration of the loan until 30 June 2020, for a consideration of 18m euros (£15.7m) to be paid in 2019-20 financial year, or to acquire the registration rights of the player on a permanent basis for 36m euros (31.3m) to be paid in two financial years,” Juventus official website stated.

Higuain is delighted of reuniting with his former coach in Napoli, Maurizio Sarri, and plays in the world’s best league, Premier League.

“When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it. It’s a team I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in,” Higuain said in the official website.

“I now hope I can give back that trust Chelsea have shown me out on the pitch. I can’t wait to start and I hope to adapt as soon as possible,” he emphasized.

Higuain, who is clinical in the box and has the airball duel skill like the real target man, has scored 8 goals with Milan during half of this season. His arrival would solve the goal-drought of Chelsea.

Milan also confirmed signing Higuain’s successor. He is Genoa top-scorer who has created 13 goals in the Serie A, Krzysztof Piatek. The Polish striker has signed the four-year contract.

“AC Milan is delighted to announce the acquisition of Krzysztof Piątek from Genoa Cricket and Football Club. The Polish forward has signed a contract with AC Milan until June 30, 2023,” Milan stated in their official statement.

The domino effect is likely to happen. Rossoneri are looking for the striker after Chelsea wanted Higuain. Piatek was signed 35M euro from Genoa and becomes the second signing during this winter transfer market, after Lucas Paqueta from Flamengo.

Piatek, just like Higuain, is the opportunist striker in the box. However, the former Cracovia striker hasn’t been tested like Higuain because he was just signed this season in Europe top league with Genoa.

The 23-year-old striker is still brand-new compared to Higuain. But, Piatek is the long-term investment considering his young age. He would compete with Patrick Cutrone to be the backbone of Milan.
