DBasia.news – Simon Kjaer was in the spotlight at Euro 2020. The defender for the Danish national team helped his team-mate, Christian Eriksen, who was very close to death. Thanks to his actions, Kjaer was considered captain of AC Milan.
Simon Kjaer deserved credit and respect for Christian Eriksen’s incident against Finland. The former Sevilla player did some commendable actions.
First, Kjaer was the one who provided first aid to Eriksen before the medical team arrived. Kjaer tried to get Eriksen to still be able to breathe.
Then, Kjaer was also the one who asked the Danish players to make a baricade to cover Eriksen who was being treated. The captain’s role became even greater after helping to calm Eriksen’s lover who was on the sidelines.
Then, Kjaer’s received a lot of praise, especially from AC Milan fans. They asked the management to make Kjaer as captain next season.
Currently, the Rossoneri’s captain position is in the hands of Alessio Romagnoli. However, the Italian player’s playing time declined in the era of Stefano Pioli.
The strongest candidate to be captain to replace Romagnoli is Gianluigi Donnarumma. However, the goalkeeper will leave in the 2021 summer transfer market to Paris Saint-Germain.
Franck Kessie and Davide Calabria are also in the discussion of Milan’s management. However, with the support of the fans and the actions taken by Kjaer to help Eriksen, Milan officials began to believe in giving him the captain position.
Next, Simon Kjaer will lead Denmark against Belgium on matchday 2 of Gurp B, at Parken Stadium, Thursday (17/6). Currently, Denmark is in third position after not having won a single point.
