DBasia.news – Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman assessed that there are certain aspects that need to be improved after his squad won 2-1 victory over Dynamo Kiev in the third match of Group G in the Champions League, at the Camp Nou Stadium, Thursday (5/11) am. Koeman realized that after Barcelona did not possess the ball well.
The guest team came to Camp Nou with a player crisis condition due to injury and the corona virus. Despite losing several key players, the Ukrainian team has caused Barcelona difficulty several times.
In general, Koeman thinks that his team is playing well and winning three matches in the preliminaries is very positive.
“We have to play well, and we have to improve the game without the ball,” said Koeman as quoted by Marca.
Koeman regained his main goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen after missing several weeks with a knee injury. This is Ter Stegen’s first game this season. The German international goalkeeper played well between the posts.
Koeman did not hesitate to praise Ter Stegen as a great goalkeeper. Koeman claims he is perfect. For the past week, he said, he had been practicing well. Because of that, seeing his already fit condition, Koeman played against Dynamo Kiev.
“He has shown his quality tonight,” he added.
Koeman conducted an experiment in the match, namely placing Frenkie de Jong as a center-back accompanying Gerard Pique. Koeman said he was testing other positions besides midfield.
He argued that De Jong’s position was inseparable from Clement Lenglet’s competition, who was considered to be experiencing some physical difficulties. Koeman sees this option as a possible solution.
Barcelona still leaves a record that needs to be improved where they managed to press hard enough. They played well and created dangerous chances.
“Overall, defensively, we were good. In other games we didn’t experience as much danger as we did from opponents like we did today. We have to improve the game without the ball, “concluded the former Dutch national team coach.
