DBasia.news – UEFA will certainly process the controversial celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo while inspiring Juventus’ comeback victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Ronaldo bought a hat-trick in the Champions League last 16 second leg duel in Turin, Tuesday (12/3), to bring Juventus to a 3-0 win over Atletico as well as advance to the quarter-finals 3-2 on aggregate.
After the game ended, Ronaldo approached the Atletico fans’ stand and did a cojones celebration, which pointed to the part of his genitals. The indecent action made Ronaldo be accused of UEFA for doing inappropriate actions.
“After an investigation by the UEFA Ethics Agency and Discipline, according to Article 55 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulation, a disciplinary process has been opened regarding the Champions League last 16 match between Juventus and Atletico Madrid which was held on March 12 in Italy,” said an official UEFA statement.
If found guilty, the 34-year-old striker has the potential to miss the Champions League quarter-final against Ajax in April. So whether or not Ronaldo is punished will be decided at the UEFA Ethics Board and Discipline Board meeting on March 21.
This vulgar celebration is alleged to be Ronaldo’s reply to a similar celebration by Atletico coach, Diego Simeone when his team overcame Juve 2-0 in the first leg. Simeone avoided UEFA penalties, but he got a fine.
