Agrees with Fans, Koeman Frustrated with Barcelona Transfers

DBasia.news – FC Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman represents the voice of the team’s fans during his press conference session in LaLiga. Koeman was frustrated by the transfer maneuvers that Barcelona carried out in the summer of 2021.

Barcelona have so far signed Eric Garcia, Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay and Emerson, but the first three names were recruited free as their contracts expired with their respective clubs. On the other hand they actually lost Lionel Messi.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner and their best player left on a free because his contract was not renewed. LaLiga’s regulations on limiting club salaries and expenses did not allow Barca to extend his contract.

When other clubs were busy recruiting players and some big names, Barcelona could only stay silent and do nothing. It was admitted by Koeman frustrated him and he could not do anything about it.

“I understand it (Barcelona’s situation). For everyone who wants the best for the club, it’s frustrating, I understand it,” Koeman was quoted as saying by Sport-English.

“On the other hand, we have to be realistic. Economically, clubs cannot compete with other clubs, with Paris (Saint-Germain) (Manchester), City, (Manchester) United … that’s how it is now. We have to accept it.”

However, this does not want to be used as an excuse for Koeman to assess Barcelona’s weakness. The club must still aim for victory and success.

“We aspire to win everything and we have to have a winning mentality, but we cannot hope to be the best in the world. We have lost the best player in the world and we have to be realistic. different,” added Koeman.

On the positive side, Barca continues the tradition of developing young players, especially La Masia products. Koeman asked for patience with the development of young players like Ansu Fati, Pedri or Nico Gonzalez.

“We are building an interesting team for the future, but we need patience. Pedri at 24 is not the same as Pedri at 18. Or Nico or others. We are building something, but we need time,” said the Dutchman.
