Ahead of Laliga, Barcelona successfully registered 17 players to Laliga

DBasia.news – Ahead of the 2022-2023 Laliga season, Barcelona will play against Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou, Sunday (14/08) at 02.00 WIB. The Blaugrana still have problems registering their players in Laliga.

This happened as LaLiga forbade Barcelona to do so until they resolved financial issues. Their financial condition is in contrast to the activities of Xavi Hernandez’s team in the transfer market.

Talks regarding economic levers and reducing player salaries have become Barcelona’s daily story. The club in theory has signed five players with big profiles in Europe namely Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kunde.

Even Barca’s transfer has not ended as they are still targeting Marcos Alonso (Chelsea) and Bernardo Silva (Manchester City). Barcelona could have signed him but if they weren’t registered they couldn’t play in LaLiga.

In total Barca have spent more or less 150 million euros in the summer transfer window, but ironically they can’t play against Vallecano if they are not registered with LaLiga because of the salary limitation rules, which Barcelona have not complied with.

On Tuesday, Barcelona announced the jersey numbers of the players and the result, quoted from the Mirror, was that only 17 players had been registered by Barcelona to LaLiga.

The 17 names with their jersey numbers are Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (1), Sergino Dest (2), Gerard Pique (3), Ronald Araujo (4), Jordi Alba (18), Eric Garcia (24), Samuel Umtiti (unnumbered), Sergio Busquets (5 ), Pedri (8), Miralem Pjanic (16), Frenkie de Jong (21), Nico Gonzalez (unnumbered), Ferran Torres (11), Ansu Fati (10), Memphis Depay (14 ), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (17), and Martin Braithwaite (unnumbered).

As Sport explained, local players such as Gavi, Alejandro Balde and Abde Ezzalzouli can play without having to register first, a total of 20 people. That amount could be reduced as several names were sold by Barca for the sake of adjusting the club’s salary.

Barca still have a chance until the end of the month to register players. New players can look forward to their playing opportunities as the club settles financial matters.
