Ajax Want Vertonghen and Alderweireld

DBasia.news – Ajax Amsterdam Sporting Director Marc Overmars said that he has the intention to return Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld home.

During the summer transfer market, Overmars brought home two former Ajax players to Amsterdam. They are Daley Blind from Manchester United and Dusan Tadic from Southampton. In 2017, De Gondenzoden also brought home Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Schalke.

“I always read: Alderweireld wants to go back, Vertonghen wants to go. But then I would like them to do that when they are fit and hungry for success,” Overmars said.

”Whether we have contact with them? That certainly happens, yes. But nothing has been promised,” he added.

Both Vertonghen and Alderweireld are the key players in Tottenham Hotspur. They are still the main choice of Roberto Martinez for Belgium national team’s defense.

Currently, Alderweireld and Vertonghen are still in contract with Tottenham. Vertonghen’s contract would expire in 2020. Meanwhile, Alderweireld is about to renew his contract until 2020.
