Andrea Pirlo Was Awarded the Gold Tapir Trophy
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Andrea Pirlo has only started his career as Juventus manager for about three months. However, he has received an award called Tapiro d’Oro or Tapir Emas.
Unfortunately this award is not a title to be proud of. On the other hand, the regular recipient is also considered a loser.
Tapiro d’Oro is an award given by an Italian television program called Striscia La Notizia since 1996. This is a form of satire to a character whose performance is declining or has made a fatal mistake.
The recipient of this trophy is not only addressed to Pizza Nation football players. Figures from celebrities, politicians to other sportsmen have also received it.
Pirlo’s choice to receive Tpiro d’Oro this year is of course related to Juventus’ poor performance at the start of the 2020-2021 season. The Bianconeri’s steps are still hobbling.
Pirlo accepted this trophy sincerely. He is sure he will be able to answer this insinuation by getting Juventus back on track.
“We ran forward, so I’m not afraid not to eat the panettone. I’m confident,” Pirlo told Striscia La Notizia.
For information, panettone is a typical Italian food that is usually served at Christmas. That means Pirlo is not afraid of being fired before one of the Christian holidays.
Apart from Pirlo, a number of soccer players have also received the Tapiro d’Oro trophy. Some of them are Gonzalo Higuain, Fabio Capello, Francesco Totti, Christian Vieri, and Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima.
