Andrea Ranocchia is optimistic that Inter will qualify for the Champions League knockout phase
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Inter Milan defender, Andrea Ranocchia insists that his club still remains optimistic about qualifying for the Champions League group stage this season.
The Nerazzurri have had a poor form at UCL, picking up only two points from four games, which leaves them at the heart of Group B.
The match at Borussia Monchengladbach will be the opening for Antonio Conte’s side if they manage to win, and Ranocchia believes La Beneamata can steal the full points at Borussia-Park.
“Tomorrow we will have a match like the last match of the tournament, with team spirit and a desire to win,” said Ranocchia.
“We know we are facing a strong team, with extraordinary individuals, but we are confident in what we are building and we are aiming for a win, that is the only result we can get.
“Between the thousands of difficulties we can still qualify for the next round. We can still think about qualifying and this should be our target in the last two games.
“We are in the top flight of Italy’s Serie A. We had a few games that went wrong, but we are there.
“The victory over Sassuolo will increase our confidence for the match later.”
Inter are currently fourth in Group B, six points behind Monchengladbach and five points adrift of Real Madrid.
