Andreas Christensen says farewell to Chelsea

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Andreas Christensen, the Danish defender, finally said goodbye to everyone at Chelsea, including his supporters.

Christensen has defended Chelsea since he was young. He initially joined the Blues academy in 2012.

Two years later he broke into the Chelsea senior team. But the Blues had sent him to Gladbach from 2015 to 2017.

After returning to Chelsea, Christensen was often trusted to guard the Blues’ back line. He also helped his team win four titles, including the Champions League in the 2020-21 season.

This summer, his contract at Chelsea expired. Andreas Christensen is reportedly reluctant to extend his tenure at Stamford Bridge.

During this time Christensen was silent. He finally opened up ahead of his departure from Chelsea. He admitted that it was not easy for him to decide to leave the Blues.

“I had a difficult decision to make at the age of 16 to leave Denmark. I met many different clubs but there was only one option for me and that was Chelsea,” Christensen wrote on his Instagram account.

“From the moment I arrived they made me feel at home, I am grateful to Jim Fraser and Neil Bath who immediately embraced me as part of their family,” recalls Christensen.

Andreas Christensen then revealed the most memorable moments of his career at Chelsea. One of them was when he helped the Blues beat Manchester City in the Champions League final.

“Some of my proudest moments at the club were when we won the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League. They are a special group of young players who I am proud of as a teammate.”

“I’ve been lucky to play under some fantastic managers including [Antonio] Conte, [Jose] Mourinho and now Thomas Tuchel.

“Last year was my proudest achievement as a player when we lifted the Champions League at Porto,” Christensen said.

Furthermore, Andreas Christensen admitted that he was thrilled to be joining Chelsea as since childhood he had dreamed of playing for the Blues.

And now that he’s had enough of living his dream, Christensen is ready for a new adventure, including with his family. He also admitted that he would miss everyone at Chelsea.

“Mentally the last few months have been challenging as it was not an easy decision to leave this club and the fans.

“I’m not the one who talks the most, so sometimes people don’t understand how much the club and the fans mean to me.”

“I will miss the players, the staff and everyone here. I wish the club and the fans all the best in the future.”

Before officially leaving Chelsea, Andreas Christensen was linked with several clubs. Among them are AC Milan and Barcelona.

But in the end Christensen was said to have chosen to join Barcelona. Reportedly he was contracted for five years at Camp Nou.

But there is a chance Christensen’s move to Barcelona would fail as the Blaugrana are experiencing financial problems.
