Ansu Fati’s Injury Is More Severe Than Expected
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Ansu Fati had to experience setbacks in the process of recovering from a serious knee injury he sustained. This fact makes it doubtful for the player to take part in the Champions League last 16 match between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 18-year-old youngster has been out of action since early November last year, with his last appearance as Los Blaugrana beat Real Betis 5-2.
Before his injury, the original La Masia product was charming with five goals in 12 matches.
After successfully breaking into the senior squad for the Spanish national team, other great things are expected from this talented figure. However, his impressive progress was halted due to serious injury problems.
TV3 reported that Fati was forced to undergo another operation. This further operation was intended to allow him to fully recover from his injury.
Some sources tell Goal that no second operation has been performed, but it can be confirmed that Fati is experiencing discomfort in her knee and that further action should be taken.
That way, it is unlikely that he will return to the field any time soon. This is certainly a slap hard for Ronald Koeman’s squad, which will face a busy agenda in the next few days.
Barca head to Real Betis on Sunday before turning their attention to the Copa de Rey semi-final against Sevilla.
The Blaugrana must also maintain their good performance in the match against Alaves on February 13 in order to maintain momentum on the winning track, followed by three days later against PSG in the first round of 16 of the Champions League. It is highly likely that Fati will not be included in the squad in these matches.
Barca had previously hoped their prospective player could return to training at the end of January, but the truth is that it is far from being on fire.
Avoiding surgery will certainly be good news for Barca, because it could end Fati’s season in the 2020/21 period. But the progress will still be seen again how ready he is to return to appear with Lionel Messi cs.
