DBasia.news –  Former Arsenal player from Brazil, Eduardo Cesar Daude Gaspar aka Edu was appointed as the new technical director.

Edu officially became Arsenal’s technical director, after the previous target, Ramon Rodríguez Verdejo, or Mochi opted for Sevilla after leaving AS Roma.

The first player brought in by Edu with his new position was 17-year-old Brazilian player, Gabriel Martinelli.

Edu’s figure is not an arbitrary player. Although his name was not as famous as Thierry Henry or Robert Pires, Edu was part of the squad for The Invincibles in the 2003/2004 season.

In that season, Arsene Wenger as a coach was able to make the London Cannon team unbeaten in one Premier League season. Edu’s role in the Brazilian midfield was one of the factors why Arsenal were strong enough in that season.

At the level of the Brazilian national team, Edu first played for the Samba team in 2004. He also became a part when the Brazilian national team won the Copa America 2004 title and the Confederation Cup in 2005.
