Arsenal are ready to compete with Juventus for Manuel Locatelli

DBasia.news – Arsenal are starting to move to make an offer for Sassuolo star Manuel Locatelli. This news was conveyed by Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali.

The Gunners are trying hard to bring Locatelli to the Emirates Stadium despite the midfielder’s strong performance with Italy at Euro 2020.

Arsenal are reportedly getting rivalry from Italian giants Juventus, who are also said to be interested in the midfielder. Juventus are even rumored to have scheduled a meeting with Sassuolo to discuss transfers.

“Arsenal have made an official offer for Locatelli. They are trying hard to sign Manuel and it’s an important offer. We’ll see,” Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia.

“Juventus also want the services of the player and we have a special relationship with them. We have a new meeting scheduled with Juve,” he explained.

Carvenali said that his side is currently prioritizing the player’s work with the Azzurri in the European Cup and has not started discussions with the player or his agent.

“We are trying to calm the player down, so I haven’t spoken to him or his agent. We can think about Locatelli’s future, but above all we care about his present and that means Italy are doing well at the European Cup.”

Arsenal need Locatelli to fill the midfield. The 23 year old player can play the role of a midfielder despite having qualified skills as a playmaker. Locatelli will be the replacement for Granit Xhaka, who is rumored to be joining AS Roma soon.
