By db-admin

DBasia.news –  The Gunners must be willing to go down to fifth position in the Premier League standings after receiving defeat from Sheffield United, Tuesday (10/22). Sheffield managed to end the game with a final score of 1-0.

Appearing as a superior team, Arsenal immediately tried to suppress the back line of Sheffield United. However, they struggled to penetrate the home team’s defense at the beginning of the match.

In the 21st minute, Arsenal almost scored the opening goal. However, Nicolas Pepe still failed to complete Koladac’s bait. Arsenal even had to be left behind in the 32nd minute after Sheffield United was able to steal a goal through Lys Mousset efforts.

Being left behind, Arsenal tried to catch up. At the end of the first half, they almost scored the equalizer. However, Granite Xhaka’s kick was properly secured by Dean Henderson. The first half ended with the score 1-0.

In the second half, Arsenal who tried to catch up were instead forced to defend by Sheffield United attacks. In the 61st minute, the Blades almost doubled their lead. However, efforts from John Fleck still deviated from the goal of Bernd Leno.

Six minutes later, Leno was forced to work hard to secure the net. This time, it was David McGoldrick’s turn to threaten after Leno failed to secure Fleck’s long-range strike perfectly.

Not satisfied with the appearance of his players, Unai Emery also included Gabriel Martinelli and Alexandre Lacazette in the middle of the second half. The entry of Lacazette and Martinelli also made Arsenal able to appear more pressingly.

Despite continuing to attack, Arsenal failed to create an equalizing goal until the referee ended the game. These results has made the Gunners fail to return to the top four and must sit in fifth position in the Premier League standings with a collection of 15 points from nine matches.
