Arsenal Started the Season Badly, Arteta Remains Optimistic
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta still feels confident despite his club’s poor start to the Premier League season. Arteta said Arsenal’s journey would end sweetly.
Arsenal sit in the final position after three Premier League games for the 2021/22 season, after being beaten by promoted teams Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City. Arsenal just tasted victory in the fourth match when they met Norwich, a fellow club at the bottom.
Due to a poor start, many questions have arisen regarding Arteta’s position. A six-goal unanswered victory over West Bromwich Albion in the second round of the League Cup had eased the pressure.
Arsenal still has a lot to prove before it can be considered as one of the contenders. But Arteta is confident that his long-term project can start to take shape.
“I can really see the light,” Arteta said as quoted by Goal.
“I’m very positive most of the time. I’ve seen the bright spots and I can see that.”
“Maybe a lot of obstacles in the way, but I can see a lot of light,” he continued.
Arteta, who learned directly from Pep Guardiola as an assistant coach at Manchester City, adds to his way of dealing with criticism.
“Life gives you a lot of things. You can’t decide. There are certain things you can’t control. What comes to you comes for a reason. Sometimes we don’t want to see it but it comes for a reason and maybe for the right reasons. , said Arteta.
The 39-year-old coach said that the streak of unsatisfactory results was something that had to happen and he believed there was a reason for something to happen.
Arsenal have the opportunity to achieve maximum results this season as they are absent from European competition due to only being able to finish in eighth place.
“It was very painful. It was very painful to see on television but Arsenal were not there. One hundred percent it will be our motivation to return to European competition. We have focus,” concluded Arteta.
