Arsenal’s young squad weave their dreams in the Premier League

DBasia.news – Arsenal fans are still dreaming of the 2022-2023 Premier League. The Gunners managed to return to the top of the table after winning against Liverpool.

The victory against Liverpool was special because the Reds were Manchester City’s only competitive rivals in recent years in the league, moreover Jurgen Klopp’s side have also won the league title, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.

Arsenal won 3-2 against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium, Sunday (09/10) night WIB, in the continuation of week 10 of the Premier League. Three of Arsenal’s goals came from Gabriel Martinelli (1′) and Bukayo Saka’s two goals (45+5′ and 76′ penalties), while Darwin Nunez (34′) and Roberto Firmino (53′) scored Liverpool’s two goals.

It was Arsenal’s first win over Liverpool in all competitions since 2020. Another special thing is that Arsenal’s youth squad, which Mikel Arteta has built over the last three years, is starting to show a major development process.

Quoted from Opta, Arsenal’s three goals were scored by Saka (2 goals) and Martinelli, both 21 years old. This means that Arsenal have now scored 54 goals from players aged 21 or under in the Premier League under Mikel Arteta, more than any other team.

“The feeling of winning is strong and means a lot to me because I saw a team that I felt really suited me, the personality they showed in difficult times, how they stuck to what they had to do,” Arteta said on Arsenal’s official website.

“And at the same time they believe they have the courage and the free mind to do so and attack them and put them under pressure.”

“Right now, enjoy where we are and once again have more determination to believe we can play at that level, only when we follow that rhythm and play with courage do we play the second half and go one step at a time.”

Arsenal have also won eight consecutive home Premier League games under Mikel Arteta. Currently, only two Premier League teams have won 10 games in all competitions: Arsenal and Manchester City.
