Arsene Wenger Reluctant to Train Barcelona

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Former Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger had received an offer to train the Barcelona team. But he refused the offer to replace Quique Setien’s position.

Barcelona are reportedly going to dismiss the coach, Quique Setien. No doubt, the Blaugrana failed to defend the Spanish League title even though they were still able to advance to the Champions League against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals on Saturday (15/8).

Reporting from the Mirror, Barcelona are already looking for candidates to replace Quique Setien. Surprisingly, Arsene Wenger’s name seems to be on the list.

Arsene Wenger is a former Arsenal manager who was quite successful in the Premier League. Coaching Arsenal from 1996 to 2018, he managed to win three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups. Not to mention, through his cold hands appeared the names of great players like Thierry Henry and Patrick Viera.

Arsene Wenger himself has now served as the head of Global Football Development of FIFA for one year, aka head of world football development.

Wenger, now 70 years old, once said he liked his new job. He doesn’t seem to want to coach a club anymore.

“I enjoy life now and often travel the world,” he said.

He also revealed that he had indeed rejected several clubs that wanted him to become a coach. However, it was not explained in detail.

“I’ve rejected several clubs. Basically, what I’m doing right now is to help the world of football,” he concluded.
