Arteta’s aides at Arsenal
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Mikel Arteta revealed the coaching staff who would help him at Arsenal, with Freddie Ljungberg confirmed to be one of his three assistant coaches.
Arteta officially left the position of assistant coach Pep Guardiola at Manchester City last week to replace Unai Emery as manager of the Gunners.
Ljungberg, who has led the team in the last six matches, has been retained as an assistant coach with Albert Stuivenberg and Steve Round.
Stuivenberg is still an assistant to Ryan Giggs in the Wales national team and accepted a double job at Arsenal until after the 2020 European Cup. He previously worked with Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.
Arteta also brought Round, who was part of David Moyes’ coaching staff at Everton and Manchester United. Round has also been a staff of England national team coach and football director Aston Villa.
Arteta appointed Inaki Cana Pavon of Brentford as the goalkeeping coach to work together with Sal Bibbo.
Pavon previously worked in Spain and Denmark after starting his playing career with Barcelona.
“Together with these talented people at the club, they will be the key people who take us back to winning ways,” said Arteta.
