AS Roma Gasak at San Siro, Milan Approaches European Zone
By db-admin
DBasia.news – AC Milan managed to continue its hegemony during the Corona virus pandemic. I Rossoneri again won full points in Serie A continued after bulldozing AS Roma 2-0 at the San Siro on Sunday (28/6).
AC Milan has always scored in four Serie A meetings against AS Roma. The trend will try to continue at San Siro on week 28. Stefano Pioli plays a 4-2-3-1 formation by relying on Ante Rebic up front who is supported by Samu Castillejo, Hakan Calhanoglu, Giacomo Bonaventura.
Paulo Fonseca also played the same tactic by taking down Edin Dzeko. The Bosnian striker Hezergovina will be supported by three agile players behind him, namely Justin Kluivert, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Not many opportunities were created in this first round. AS Roma started quickly and Milan were ‘hot’ late. Opportunities from the visitors came on 21 minutes when Kluivert’s cross was headed by Dzeko, but the header went wide.
Likewise, a golden opportunity owned by Milan from Calhanoglu in minute 39. Free standing and not guarded when receiving a cross from Theo Hernandez, Calhanoglu failed to convert it into a goal. As a result the first half ended goalless. Both teams also do not have the creativity to play in this first round.
The game is still running with a slow tempo in the second round. The intensity of the new game was seen when Antonio Mirante made a save in the 68th minute from kick speculation Lucas Paqueta.
Entering the 75th minute the two coaches have added new players from the bench. Paqueta and Alexis Saelemaekers entered the Milan camp, while Nikola Kalinic, Diego Perotti, and Carles Perez played in the Roma camp.
Milan’s awaited goal finally came in the 78th minute. Ante Rebic scored when the ball struck the goalpost and the ball was struck by the rebound. Mirante was not ready because he had previously dismissed Franck Kessie’s volley. Milan are winning 1-0.
Roma tried to respond to it but instead of scoring a goal they even conceded again in the 89th minute. Hernandez was dropped in the penalty box by Chris Smalling and Calhanoglu who executed the penalty calmly carrying out their duties.
The position became 2-0 and Roma did not have enough time to pursue it. Il Rossoneri won the match on week 28 and moved up to seventh in Serie A.
