Ashley Cole: Ljungberg Knows Arsenal inside-out, Suitable as The Gunners’ Coach
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Former Arsenal star Ashley Cole hopes that his team-mate Freddie Ljungberg can become the club manager permanently.
As is known, Freddie Ljungberg is still the temporary coach of Arsenal. He replaced Unai Emery who was fired some time ago.
For Ashley Cole, Ljungberg is a very appropriate figure for the Gunners. According to him, the man from Sweden is very suitable to be a mentor Mesut Oezil et al who are undergoing a period of transition.
“All clubs have changed. They were going through a transition period when they tried Unai Emery and for whatever reason, it wasn’t going well. Now Freddie is there and I hope he can be appointed as a permanent coach,” Cole said to Omnisport, Friday (12/13/2019).
“He is very aware of clubs inside and out. “Freddie was my friend when I played for Arsenal and I hope that his presence there can change something so that the club is back to how it was before,” added the former Chelsea player.
Since taking over the team from Emery, Ljungberg has not been able to restore the best performance of the Gunners. Of the four matches, he was only able to bring Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to win once against West Ham United.
Most recently, Arsenal was held to a draw by Belgian club Standard Liege in the Europa League. They even had two goals behind before finally equalizing to 2-2.
