DBasia.news – Paris Saint Germain’s dream to win the Champions League title for the first time is wide open. Les Parisien managed to advance to the final after defeating RB Leipzig with a score of 3-0 in the Champions League semifinals on Wednesday (19/8).

Playing at the Estadio da Luz on Wednesday (19/08) PSG won 3-0 thanks to goals scored by Marquinhos (13 ‘), Angel Di Maria (42’), and Juan Bernat (56 ‘). The two teams both released 14 attempted kicks, but PSG was more effective at converting nine shots on target into three goals.

With these three goals, Thomas Tuchel’s PSG have now scored in 34 consecutive matches in European competition since 2016. Les Parisiens have never missed scoring goals. According to Squawka, that record could only be matched by Real Madrid from mid-2011-2014.

Apart from equaling Real Madrid’s record, two PSG players have now collected 51 assists in total since the data collected by Squawka in the 2003-04 season. Di Maria has a collection of 27 assists and Neymar 24 assists. In this match, Di Maria gave two assists and Neymar one.

Neymar’s record is also special because now the Brazilian star has been directly involved in 59 goals in 59 Champions League appearances (35 goals and 24 assists). That shows an important role for PSG which also has other top players like Kylian Mbappe and Di Maria.

Added to this is the record of Opta PSG reaching the Champions League final for the first time in history after 110 attempts. That is through Arsenal’s records.

“PSG reached the first Champions League final; the first of 110 matches in the competition – the most played by a team before reaching the final, through Arsenal’s record (90 games) in mid-1971-2006,” said @OptaJoe.

PSG will be waiting for the winner of the match between Bayern Munich and Olympique Lyonnais in the 2019-20 Champions League final which will take place at the Estadio da Luz, Monday (24/08).
