PSG is considered to have failed to maximize Neymar’s talent

The criticism was delivered directly by former PSG player, Edouard Cisse. He saw a change in Neymar’s character from his time at Barcelona.

Since then, Neymar has successfully presented ten domestic trophies for PSG. But he failed to realize the club’s main target, namely the Champions League title.

“At Barcelona there is a structure and Neymar has a cleaner style of play, although he dribbles more. His job is to break down the defensive line, make the difference and pass the ball to General (Lionel) Messi,” Cisse told Le Parisien.

“In Paris, they (PSG) gave him the keys and they let him do what he wanted. In one moment, he was lost.”

“He is a great player, no one can argue with that, but he has become a spoiled and he manages everyone around him,” he added.

While strengthening PSG, Neymar did have time to do controversial things both on and off the field. Things like this rarely happened while still strengthening Barcelona.

PSG management should have listened to Cisse’s criticism. Neymar’s performance proved to be a worrying start at the start of the 2021-2022 season.

Neymar was late for pre-season after strengthening the Brazilian national team in the Copa America. He was later accused of being overweight after returning from vacation.

Neymar has now made seven appearances in all competitions. As a result, he was only able to score one goal from the penalty spot and two assists.
