By db-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool successfully defeated the Aston Villa youth team which contained U18 and U23 players with a landslide score of 4-1. The Aston Villa vs Liverpool match is one of the FA Cup third round matches.
The corona virus outbreak did attack Aston Villa the day before the match. A number of their main players and club staff have been infected with the virus and the training ground had to be closed.
However, based on young players, Aston Villa gave Liverpool a fierce resistance. At least for 45 minutes of the first half.
Liverpool did fully dominate the game. The Reds have even been able to break the deadlock when the game has been running for four minutes.
Sadio Mane gave the visitors the lead with a header. This goal could not be separated from the mature bait provided by Curtis Jones.
After winning, Liverpool became increasingly comfortable in possession of the ball. A number of opportunities were created by Jurgen Klopp’s team even though they failed to convert into goals.
Fun to attack, Liverpool actually missed ahead of the end of the first half. Louie Barry beat Caoimhin Kelleher from close range after escaping the offside trap and changing the score to 1-1 which lasted until the break.
However, the difference in the quality of the two teams was very visible in the second half. Aston Villa’s young players are really having trouble just threatening Liverpool’s goal.
Liverpool were able to score three goals in the second half. Interestingly, it was done in just five minutes.
Disaster for Aston Villa began in the 60th minute. Georginio Wijnaldum got his name on the scoreboard with a powerful, accurate shot.
Three minutes later, Mane scored his second goal in this match. He again beat the Aston Villa goalkeeper with a header.
Mohamed Salah finally closed the Liverpool goal party two minutes later. His flat kick nestled hard in the Aston Villa goal of Akos Onodi’s guard.
Liverpool failed to score again despite continuing to dominate the match. Score 2-1 for the visitors lasted until the match ended.
This result led Liverpool to qualify for the next round. They also successfully erased the trauma from the 2-7 defeat in the same place.
