Aubameyang and Arteta’s relationship is in question
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The disappearance of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal’s line-up against Southampton at the weekend has raised questions. How is his current relationship with the manager, Mikel Arteta?
Arsenal appeared mighty when they hosted Southampton in the 2021-2022 Premier League at the Emirates Stadium, last weekend. The Gunners were able to close the game with a landslide victory of 3-0.
This result ended Arsenal’s losing streak in the previous two matches. But the disappearance of Aubameyang is even more interesting.
Arteta has declared Aubameyang’s absence was due to disciplinary reasons. However, he did not explain in detail what the Gabonese attacker had done
From there, rumors emerged of a heated relationship between Arteta and Aubameyang. This has been detected when Arsenal lost 1-2 at home to Everton, four days earlier.
At that time Aubameyang started the match from the bench. He was only entered five minutes before normal time ended.
This decision has invited questions of Aubameyang’s status as Arsenal’s captain and main striker. The person concerned is also in a fit condition.
According to the Daily Mail report, Arteta and Aubameyang’s relationship has been rocky. The two have had minimal one-on-one conversations since the manager arrived, almost two years ago.
Even though Aubameyang has been appointed as Arsenal’s main captain since the era of Unai Emery. Arteta should have held a serious conversation with the player when he arrived.
During Arteta’s tenure, Aubameyang has committed several disciplinary offences. But Arteta still maintains his status as captain.
This seems to be done by Arteta in order to maintain harmony in the changing room. He was worried that Arsenal’s internal conditions would be shaken and cause an impact on their performance on the field.
By now Arteta’s patience with Aubameyang may have run out. Therefore, he was outspoken regarding the disciplinary violations committed by the former Borussia Dortmund player.
Aubameyang’s future at Arsenal is now in question. With 18 months remaining on his contract, Arteta must immediately sell him to obtain a high enough financial profit.
