Bad Luck Strucked Former Chelsea Winger
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Bad luck seems to be happened to former Chelsea winger Andre Schuerrle. The German player must receive bad news after Spartak Moscow did not secure his contract from Borussia Dortmund on April 17.
Before landing in Russia, Schuerrle had strengthened several big clubs such as Chelsea, Wolfsburg and Dortmund. During playing in Russia, Schuerrle was only able to contribute one goal and two assists from 13 appearances.
“We have agreed with Andre Schuerrle not to activate his purchase clause. But, we still consider that Schuerrle is an extraordinary player,” said director of Spartak Moscow, Tomas Zorn as quoted from the SportBild website.
Termination of this loan contract also makes Schuerrle almost certain to not return to Moscow after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he also could not immediately join the Dortmund first team because his name was not registered as a Der BVB player.
Termination of the contract is not the only unfortunate fate experienced by Schuerrle while playing in Russia. The 29-year-old man was also forced to play by Spartak coach, Oleg Kononov, when he was experiencing a high fever.
The decision was fatal to Schuerrle who contracted acute bronchitis. The disease makes Schuerrle unable to show his best performance in Russia.
In addition, Schuerrle also had an ankle injury that was quite severe in February. The injury left Schuerrle in Germany with his child and family since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
