Barcelona Eyeing Young RB Salzburg Players
By db-admin
DBasia.news – FC Barcelona started a new era with the club legend who now coaches the team, Xavi Hernandez. Blaugrana – Barcelona’s nickname – is still waiting for Xavi’s first debut as a coach in the middle of the November international break.
While waiting for Xavi’s debut match, Barcelona are trying to strengthen the squad ahead of the winter transfer market (January 2022). One area they want to strengthen is in the attacking position.
Injuries to Sergio Aguero and Martin Braithwaite, as well as the departures of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, forced Barca into the transfer market in search of a new striker. Especially after Luuk de Jong’s performance was not satisfactory.
Barca still have Ousmane Dembele and Yusuf Demir but both are not central strikers, but wingers. One name came to the fore. According to Sport-English, Barca are interested in RB Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi.
The German striker is only 19 years old and has had a great season with Salzburg, be it in the local league or Champions League. Barca continue to monitor his progress and have twice met his agent, Thomas Salomon.
Reportedly, not only Barca are interested in signing him but also Borussia Dortmund. The German club, which is already well-known as a club for developing young players, is rumored to have prepared 35 million euros to bid for Adeyemi and is also preparing a salary of five million euros per year.
Adeyemi, who won the Under-21 European Cup with Germany, could be a long-term investment for Barca. This season Adeyemi has recorded 15 goals and two assists from 22 matches in all competitions.
With his small body, agility to move, Adeyemi can also be played as a wing striker. The advantage besides finishing is the quality of the technique to dribble the ball past the opponent.
“Karim has shown what he has shown at the start of the season with Salzburg; that he is a good finisher in the penalty area and is very confident,” said Germany coach Hansi Flick to Adeyemi.
