Barcelona gave a warning to Frenkie de Jong

DBasia.news – Barcelona finally gave a warning to Frenki de Jong, that he had to leave Camp Nou this summer if he didn’t want to take a pay cut.
De Jong wants to stay in Catalunya but Barcelona are trying to sell the Dutch midfielder in order to balance their balance sheet and cut back on high-paid players.
Manchester United, now coached by Erik ten Hag, made the former Ajax star their priority target, but De Jong was reluctant to join the Red Devils for various reasons, one of which was the absence of the Champions League.
De Jong’s agent has also approached Chelsea in recent weeks, and the player is more relieved to have to make a move to Stamford Bridge.
However, Goal previously reported that Barcelona had agreed to United’s 85 million euros offer, and sources claim Chelsea are reluctant to match that amount.
According to COPE, the La Liga giants have explained the situation to De Jong’s agent that his client must choose either: take a pay cut or leave Camp Nou.
The report says that Barcelona will save 40 million euros if they succeed in removing De Jong from their salary bill.
Barca also still have to pay off debts to De Jong as they are in arrears on his salary of 17.1 million pounds on the player’s agreement to help the club financially.
The Blaugrana manager, Xavi, did consider De Jong’s presence vital for the team, but hinted that he could be forced to let him go.
“For me, he is a fundamental player for us but there is still an economic situation and fair play [to consider],” stated Xavi.
