DBasia.news – Barcelona are reportedly looking for a new coach to replace Ronald Koeman. Of a number of names circulating, one of them is the Belgian national team tactician, Roberto Martinez.
Ronald Koeman’s position as head coach of Barcelona is not comfortable. After being beaten by Bayern Munich three goals without reply, Barcelona again failed to win against Granada. The result, Barca only played 1-1.
Not only in terms of results, reportedly, Koeman is also not liked by the president, Joan Laporta. The two were involved in a public dispute and war of words.
Barcelona management is reportedly starting to look for a replacement for Ronald Koeman. According to Sport reports, Barca are targeting Roberto Martinez, who is currently in charge of the Belgian national team.
The Spanish coach has indeed become one of the best at the national team level. Although he has not brought the Red Devils to the title, Martinez has made the quality of the game of Romelu Lukaku and his friends go up.
Now, Belgium holds the status as one of the strongest teams in the world. With a player material based on the golden generation, Belgium often reaches the final stages in every event they participate in.
In addition, Martinez’s experience as a coach is also quite long. He started as manager in 2007 when he was appointed to manage Swansea. Next, the 48-year-old coach has also led Wigan and Everton.
Roberto Martinez also has experience playing in Spain. He defended Real Zaragoza and CF Balaguer before finally migrating to the United Kingdom.
However, to get Martinez’s services, Barcelona need to disburse 1.5 million pounds, or around Rp. 29 billion. Currently, Martinez is still under contract in Belgium until 2022.
Apart from Roberto Martinez, Barcelona is reportedly also eyeing other coaches such as Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Xavi Hernandez, Antonio Conte, and Erik ten Hag.
