By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona announced the arrival of Sergio Aguero through its official website on Monday (31/5). Joining Aguero is the first step of several other free player transfers.
Barcelona are the winners in the hunt for Sergio Agero, who is a free transfer from Manchester City. Aguero’s desire to defend the Blaugrana is the difference. In fact, Aguero is willing to accept a lower wage than what he gets to The Citizens.
In addition, Aguero chose Barcelona also because he wanted to play with his compatriot, Lionel Messi. Aguero signed a two-season contract.
“FC Barcelona and Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero have reached an agreement to join the club from 1 July when his contract with Manchester City expires,” Barcelona wrote on the club’s official website.
“The player will sign a contract that lasts until the end of the 2022-2023 season. The release clause is set at 100 million euros,” Barca continued.
Aguero is expected to be a weapon for Barcelona to entice Lionel Messi to extend the contract. In addition, more importantly, the former Atletico Madrid player became a patch for the hole left by Luis Suarez. Barca needed a pure striker as a center of attack.
The Beginning of the Barcelona Free Player Parade
Sergio Aguero is just one of a number of players who will join Barca on a free status. Next, Eric Garcia, whose contract with Man City has expired, is predicted to follow Aguero.
After that, Barcelona also entered the final stages in the transfer of Liverpool midfielder, Georginio Wijnaldum. Barca also obtained the Dutch international on a free transfer. Reportedly, Barca will send a doctor to the Dutch training center ahead of Euro 2020 to carry out medical tests.
Barcelona are also hunting for the next player whose contract expires, namely Memphis Depay. However, Depay’s arrival is also predicted to depend on Ronald Koeman’s future.
In addition, Barcelona are also in the race to recruit AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer. Barca competed with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus who were also attracted. Barca will determine the choice of Donnarumma in the near future.
These free players really helped Barcelona in terms of reducing expenses. Understandably, Barca are experiencing financial problems.
