Barcelona Reportedly Ready to Release Philippe Coutinho Next Year
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Barcelona is reportedly ready to release Philippe Coutinho in the winter transfer market. The sale of The Little Magician is considered to be able to help finance Blaugrana.
Barcelona is one of the teams most affected financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The absence of fans to watch the match live at the Camp Nou, as well as the closure of the club’s official shop, made the club’s income from Catalonia choked up.
Barcelona even had to cut player salaries so they could avoid bankruptcy. It is claimed that the cut wages of the employees reached 196 million euros (around Rp. 3.4 trillion).
Apart from cutting player salaries, Barcelona reportedly also intends to release several players in the upcoming transfer market. Launching the US report, Philippe Coutinho’s name is included in the Los Cules selling list.
Coutinho is one of the players with the highest salaries at Barcelona, reaching 11 million euros per year. Paid big, the performance of the former Liverpool and Inter Milan star is far from satisfactory.
Since being bought by Barcelona from Liverpool for 145 million euros in 2018, Coutinho has had difficulty finding his best form of play. He even went on loan to Bayern Munich for a season in 2019.
After returning from his loan spell, Philippe Coutinho has just recorded three goals and two assists in 11 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions. The 28-year-old was also sent by coach Ronald Koeman from the bench several times.
