Barcelona Still has Difficulty Winning at Away Games
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Two goals from Ramon Azezz (2 ‘) and Alvaro Vadillo (66’ via the white point) gave Granada a surprise 2-0 victory over Barcelona in the continuing LaLiga match.
Thanks to that result, Granada still remain at the top of the LaLiga standings with 10 points and three points adrift of Barcelona at number seven. Granada can be overtaken by Sevilla or Real Madrid who will meet at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Monday (9/23) AM.
For Barcelona, the defeat adds to their minor record in away games this season. Four away games have been passed by Barcelona in all competitions and they have failed to win against Athletic Bilbao (0-1), Osasuna (2-2), Borussia Dortmund (0-0) in the Champions League, and now against Granada.
Fans’ concerin in seeing Barcelona’s record when appearing at the opponent’s headquarters represented by Ernesto Valverde. The Barcelona coach is also anxious to see the difficulties of Lionel Messi and mates when undergoing an away game.
“I am worried because our away games didn’t receive good results. When four away games have passed, this is a symptom that something is not going well,” Valverde said, as reported by Football-Espana.
“It is clear that this is not a good statistic for us and it is not in line with what we have done in the last few years. This relates to what I have said, we are not good in away games, “he added.
If calculated from last season plus one Champions League match this season, then in total Barcelona has failed to win at the opponent’s headquarters for eight matches.
According to records from Marca, Barcelona only scored five goals and this record has never happened since the era of Lorenzo Serra Ferrer and then Carles Rexach in 2000-01.
Certainly a lot of work for Valverde to find solutions to these problems. If it continues, it is possible that the former Athletic Bilbao coach’s career would be threatened at Barcelona.
