DBasia.news – There was no drama or surprise scenario that happened at Camp Municipal de Cornella, Cornella’s headquarters when they hosted Barcelona in the top 32 of the Copa del Rey, Friday (22/01) am, WIB. The Blaugrana won by a score of 2-0.
The victory ensured Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona did not follow in the footsteps of rivals, Real Madrid, who were surprisingly knocked out of the top 32 to Alcoyano by a score of 1-2. Alcoyano is a team of the third division of Spanish football.
Barcelona played without Lionel Messi in this match. But Koeman’s squad remained strong with the of Antoine Griezmann, Clement Lenglet and Miralem Pjanic.
The match went quite monotonously in the first half. Cornella was careful not to play openly, while Barcelona did not play at the fast tempo as usual. A small chance was created.
Barca’s golden opportunity came when he was awarded a penalty in the 39th minute after Albert Estelles violated Ronald Araujo. However, Pjanic’s penalty was pushed over by goalkeeper, Cornella Ramon Juan, who had also tipped past Francisco Trincao’s earlier chance. The first half ended goalless.
Ousmane Dembele was played by Koeman in the second half to add to Barca’s pounding power. The tempo of the game started to improve, but again Ramon Juan appeared heroic in the goal.
In the 80th minute a penalty was again given to Barcelona after Pol Moreno violated Lenglet. This time, Dembele was the executor of the penalty, but for the second time Ramon Juan brushed it off. As a result, the goal was not created until the second half ended.
In the extra half Barcelona stole the lead quickly in the 92nd minutes. Receiving the ball from Pedri, Dembele made up for his failure to score a penalty with a goal that gave Barcelona a 1-0 lead. Ramon Juan’s goal finally broke.
Cornella was completely blunt up front and Barca’s defense had no problem coping. The situation got worse for them when they played with 10 players in the 118th minute when Estelles received two yellow cards which ended in a red card.
The advantage of the number of players is put to good use by Barca. Right on the 120 + 1 minute Martin Braithwaite sealed Barca’s victory.
Dembele played one or two with Pedri, then Pedri dribbled the ball, attracting Ramon’s attention and the ball was handed to Braithwaite who immediately scored a goal. The match ended and Barcelona won 2-0.
