Barcelona unable to register their new players to LaLiga
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Ahead of LaLiga 2022-2023, Barcelona have to face a tough problem. Reportedly, the Blaugrana had to pass the competition without a number of new recruits.
As is known, Barcelona successfully signed five star players this summer. They are Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Jules Kunde.
The total money spent by Barcelona to obtain all five reached 150 million euros. The funds were obtained after El Barca activated economic leverage by releasing some of its assets to third parties.
This policy made Barcelona sacrifice selling club assets and broadcasting rights revenue for 25 years. Instead, they get an injection of funds of around 350 million to 500 million euros.
However, this policy has not made Barcelona reduce the salary burden limit significantly. They have to release a number of stars or take massive wage cuts.
The problem is, Barcelona has not managed to sell a number of stars who have high salaries. Frenkie de Jong became one of the victims who never finished the transfer process.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta is optimistic that this problem can be resolved before the opening match of the 2022-2023 LaLiga begins. But the signs that Xavi Hernandez’s team will start the competition with a limp strength are becoming more and more obvious.
“We have done a good job and we believe we meet all the requirements. All documentation is submitted and we are waiting for a response from La Liga,” said Laporta.
“We understand that there will be no problem because we have fulfilled everything and the players will be able to be registered. If not, we are ready to apply the fourth lever and we will.”
Reselling one of their assets is indeed a quick solution to solve this problem. Barcelona wants to release the remaining 24.5% stake in Barca Studio which is valued at 100 million euros.
Even so, the fourth lever of Barcelona’s economic heaver has not guaranteed that the Catalan club can register all its new recruits. According to the COPE report, there are differences in the calculation of financial records in Barcelona’s books and data from LaLiga.
The difference in numbers is unknown. But this condition can make Barcelona’s plans fall apart.
Interestingly, Barcelona is not the only LaLiga club that has difficulty registering new players. Real Betis, Almería, Villarreal, Sevilla, to Real Valladolid also fared not much different.
