Barcelona Want to Recruit Four Players, One of Which Is a Star Player
By db-admin
DBasia.news – FC Barcelona supporters can be more calm in the summer of 2021 with Joan Laporta as the President of Barcelona. The Catalunya team is designing a transfer strategy for next summer.
After going through the uncertainty at the start of the season under the direction of Josep Maria Bartomeu, Barcelona are positively looking at the new season with strong indications of the survival of superstar Lionel Messi, who is Laporta’s top priority.
The summer transfer market will kick off Barcelona’s revolutionary project with Joan Laporta. According to Sport-English Barcelona will recruit three players at a low price in the summer plus one star (high price).
The three low-priced players are Eric Garcia, Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum. Garcia and Wijnaldum can be obtained free of charge by Barcelona because their contracts expire with Manchester City and Liverpool.
Wijnaldum and Depay are also well-known to Ronald Koeman because they were trained in the Dutch national team. Koeman had wanted both of them since the 2020 summer transfer market, but Barca at that time had to sell players first before recruiting new players.
Similar to the two is Memphis Depay. Olympique Lyonnais winger official price of 45 million euros, but Barca can also recruit a 27-year-old player for free because his contract also expires with Lyon at the end of this season.
When the transfer of the three is complete then Barcelona will have filled the slots in three different areas: center-back, central midfield and attacking wing. Three transfers for a cheap price.
The star named Erling Haaland
In contrast to the three transfers, this transfer is not cheap, namely Erling Haaland, who is currently the spearhead of Borussia Dortmund’s mainstay. The price for a 20 year old player is around 110 million euros.
Given his agent Mino Raiola, plus Dortmund’s intention to defend him, it will not be easy for Barcelona to negotiate recruiting the Norwegian player. Moreover, Dortmund has no intention of selling him.
This season Haaland has scored 33 goals and provided eight assists in 31 matches in all competitions. Haaland is a penalty box predator that Barca needed after Luis Suarez left, but they have to work hard to recruit Haaland who is also chased by other top European clubs.
