Barcelona Will Not Sacrifice Club Finances Just for the Sake of Signing Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland

DBasia.news – Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, insists El Barca will not sacrifice the club’s finances just to sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Barcelona is rumored to be one of the clubs competing to bring Erling Haaland. Joan Laporta met with Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola, to see if the striker could join.

Barca’s opportunity is wide open because Haaland’s release clause of 75 million euros will be active in the upcoming transfer market. The price looks cheap when compared to the player’s current appearance and potential in the future.

However, Laporta gave the code that Barcelona was still calculating for losses from the transfer. Because, he does not want to repeat the mistake of transfer as was done in the era of Josep Maria Bartomeu.

“We will not complete any signings that could harm the team. That is our philosophy,” Laporta explained to Mundo Deportivo.

“You can talk about players, about deals and big money. But remember that Barcelona will not lose their minds,” he added.

Apart from Haaland, Barcelona has also been linked with Kylian Mbappe. For this one, Laporta did not want to provide much information.

“Everyone is free to send messages and announce something. We know that is part of football. There are big clubs that are interested in star players,” said the president.

“However, I will not discuss that. Because, if I do, the only thing I do is harm the interests of the club.”

Previously, in the news circulating, Barcelona were ready to elbow each other with Real Madrid to get Mbappe. Barca are confident because they have just received an injection of funds.

“If we talk about players and players we want to bring in, we will increase the price. I have nothing to say about the news,” he added.
