Barcelona will sign Miralem Pjanic next season
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Miralem Pjanic’s appearance during pre-season has received a positive response from Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez.
Although he has only appeared once, when the Catalans drew 2-2 with Juventus, Xavi admitted that he was impressed with the performance of the 32-year-old player.
“He [Pjanic] has a unique vision of the game,” said Xavi. “His technical skills are outstanding.”
Pjanic, who played the second 45 minutes against Juve, made a good impression on the manager, as he was able to lead the Catalan midfield calmly.
Previously, Pjanic was rumored to be sacked from Camp Nou, with him spending the 2021/22 season on loan at Besiktas.
In fact, the Bosnia international player has actually been on Barca’s list since last summer under Ronald Koeman, but now Xavi is in control.
And it is possible that Barca will not let Pjanic go in the near future, with the midfielder also looking to prove that he can still make a positive impact on the team.
Pjanic’s own contract still runs until 2024, and he is reportedly still keen to play for Barca. However, the problem is the club’s economy.
Barca’s unstable financial situation could force Xavi to sell him, with the aim of allowing the likes of Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski to be registered for the 2022/23 season.
At least, for now he has shown positive things in his game and he hopes this pre-season can be maximized by him to convince the coaches and the club to keep him.
However, Pjanic still has to wait for what decision Xavi and Barca will make, what is clear, the manager has been surprised by Pjanic’s work during pre-season.
