Barcelona’s intentions of a big haul from Chelsea

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Barca already signed Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January 2022, but they still need new strength to be competitive in various competitions. The main target is Robert Lewandowski, but they also have to work on other sectors. The Blaugrana are reportedly interested in signing three players at once from Chelsea.

One area that needs to be improved is the back line. Uniquely in this position, Barcelona seems to only see Chelsea as a player shopping “storefront”. No half-hearted Chelsea defender targeted by Barcelona.

Summarizing from various sources as well as European football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the three players are Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso. The first two names whose contracts expire at the end of this season.

Christensen (25 years old) has even reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join Barcelona. Thomas Tuchel confirmed his departure, along with Antonio Rudiger who joined Real Madrid.

“It looks like we lost key players. We lost, of course, Toni, we lost Andreas. So it’s challenging and (even though) we have closed the gap,” complained Tuchel.

Not stopping theere, Barcelona are trying to recruit Azpilicueta and Alonso until their back line next season has a trio of Chelsea players. Azpilicueta and Alonso are from Spain and that could be a factor in Barcelona’s favour.

“Barcelona are working (to sign) Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso. There is no doubt about Alonso: he will leave Chelsea but Barca’s deal depends on the final price,” explained Romano.

“Azpilicueta has a two-year contract offer on the table from Barca, awaiting a meeting with Chelsea to decide on his future.”

Sweet for Barcelona, bitter for Chelsea if they all leave in the end. Chelsea’s back line will be different and need an overhaul next season because it only leaves Thiago Silva as a senior defender.
