Barcelona’s Ways in Withstanding Lionel Messi’s Departure

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  FC Barcelona wants their superstar, Lionel Messi, to retire at Camp Nou. According to Mundo Deportivo, the club is preparing a special contract for him.

The news of Lionel Messi’s departure from Barcelona has been circulating in the last few days. Until now the 32-year-old player has not signed a new contract.

Lionel Messi does have a contract at Barcelona until June 2021. However, in the contract, the player is free to leave as long as he notifies the club before May.

The truth of the clause was agreed by Gerard Pique. He hopes that Messi can choose to continue to defend Los Cules.

“Yes, I honestly know about Lionel Messi’s contract clause. Messi can indeed leave for free at the end of the season,” stated Gerard Pique.

“However, you all know Lionel Messi’s commitment to Barcelona. This clause does not make me worry about Messi’s future at all.”

“In my opinion, Lionel Messi has the right to determine what he wants for his own future. Moreover, after what he has given to Barcelona,” added Gerard Pique.

It is understandable that Barcelona does not want that to happen. Understandably, Messi is an important player in Barcelona for more than 10 years. The Argentine national team player has helped Barcelona win many prestigious titles.

Inevitably, Barcelona has began to develop strategies to entice Lionel Messi. One of the paths to be taken is to apply for a lifetime contract with the player.

The contract is certainly very tempting. That way, Messi will still receive a salary even though he no longer plays in Barcelona.

Barcelona seemed troubled when Lionel Messi did not appear in the first three LaLiga matches of 2019-2020. Ernesto Valverde’s squad won one victory, one draw and one defeat.

Lionel Messi has the opportunity to re-appear when Barcelona goes up against Valencia on September 14. Afterwards, Barca will face Borussia Dortmund on the first matchday of the Champions League three days after.
